Phase Change Energy Solutions are supplying their Phase Change Materials (PCMs), which are products that store and release thermal energy during the process of melting & solidifying (changing from one phase to another).

When this material (nano engineered from rapidly renewable plants) solidifies, it releases energy in the form of heat.
Conversely, when the material is melted, an equal amount of energy is absorbed, cooling its immediate environment.

The 5x4 Project is using Phase Change Material as a part of the Wall System, where it is heated and cooled by the temperature around it. As it does so, the PCM temporarily stores high or low temperature energy for later use.
