As with the body care and cleaning products, the fabrics used in the 5×4 Project play an ongoing roll in the building’s environmental impact. One of these fabrics currently being tested is woven bamboo towels and bed linen, supplied by Bamboo Village.

Why bamboo?
Because of the ecologically sound nature of bamboo’s growing cycle – it grows prolifically yet requires little water, pesticides and fertilisers and does not need replanting. It also releases more oxygen into the environment which improves air quality.

It has natural thermoregulating and antimicrobial properties, and matches or exceeds the function, quality and style of their cotton and timber counterparts.
