On the base of our garden boxes we used waterproofing materials from Mapei so that the boxes would not deteriorate when exposed to the elements or buried under a bit of soil.

For this ‘tanking’ process we used two different products from Mapei, an international company specialising in adhesives and sealants.
 
Mapelastic Smart
Mapelastic Smart is a two-component flexible cementitious mortar for waterproofing concrete, balconies, terraces, bathrooms and swimming pools.

Mapeflex PU45
Mapeflex PU45 is a single component, thixotropic, rapid-hardening polyurethane sealant and adhesive with a high modulus of elasticity.
 
We are using these products for all our interior waterproofing, including the tanking, tiling and all surfaces that need waterproof sealing.
